V-day is almost here and lets face it, less is always more when it comes to makeup! No man wants lipstick all over his face or (as my boy refers to) “sticky shit” on his lips. It’s a day to embrace imperfections and making the skin look as radiant as possible. Soft airy textures always look best in my opinion and need little to no touch-ups throughout the day. Here’s my take on Soft & Perdy. . .
I started out by priming the skin with the *Burberry Fresh Glow in No. 1 Nude Radiance to add some glow to my face. For base I decided to skip foundation and opt for the *Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint in Bronzed, this looks undetectable on the skin and gives it a tone of moisture. I set the base in place with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light. I then did some cheek action with my trusty *Jouer Bronzer in Suntan which is a very natural shade for me and gives shape to my face. I used the new *Jouer Luminizing Liquid Highlighter in No. 01 Nude Light to highlight the skin even further applying it to the tops of the cheeks, bridge of the nose, cupids bow and brow bone (this stuff is amazing). To finish the face I dabbed a bit of the *Jouer Tint in Petal for some color with a stippling brush, Jouer is my go to brand when I want my skin to look its best.
For the eyes I wanted the lashes to be the main focus (there might be some fluttering action going on at dinner time). I used the Chanel Illusion D’ombre Shadow in Emerveille as a base for M.A.C All That Glitters. These are both peachy pinky neutral shades that will look great against dark lashes. I then lined my waterline with Illamasqua’s Medium Pencil in Hex which is just a basic nude shade to open up the eyes even more. After the eyeshadow was blended I then curled my lashes and added 2 layers of the Maybelline Full & Soft Waterproof Mascara. Finally the lips! I prepped them by using a lip scrub from Lush and wanted to apply something moisturizing but still with a hint of color. Keeping it very simple I used the *ByTerry Baume De Rose in Rosy Babe to complete the look.
