Can I call this the little black box of wonders? Unlike it’s sister counterpart (Vitalumiere Aqua) the finish of this foundation is semi-matte. It’s liquid at first but once blended into the skin it’s exactly what it says on the bottle, velvet. Now if you’re a dry skin kinda gal this will cling to dry patches. Now I know matte sounds a bit scary at times but it feels weightless on the skin and is a light to medium coverage. I have an oily/combo t-zone so this is perfect for me! I chose the shade B40 which is a great match for my NC 35 skin tone. It lasts a good 6-8 hrs before I see it starts to wear off but there is still remittance of it on my face at the end of the night (foundations aren’t meant to last 24hrs like some claim to be). Like all Chanel products it is scented but nothing overwhelming. I’m super impressed with the formula and love how much of a skin-like finish I can achieve. I’ve found the best way to apply this foundation is with the good ol’ phalanges! I then take my damp beauty blender and use it all over the face just to make sure everything is worked into the skin. The packaging is so convenient for travel and contains 30ml of product. This pairs like a dream with the Chanel Le Blanc Sheer Illuminating Base, I’ve found that it really helps with longevity and giving the skin a nice subtle glow.
So again if you suffer from dry skin I advise picking up the Vitalumière Aqua which has a more dewy finish. The Perfection Lumiere will be great for oily skin types especially with summer approaching. So total win for moi!
