- M.A.C 224 – This is actually the first makeup brush I ever purchased and that was about 8 yrs ago. It still works and is crucial to any eye look because it blends everything. I call it the blur-brush, I use it to blend the crease and brow bone so that the transition between the two is gradient.
- M.A.C 239 – The best brush to pack color onto the lid. It’s also nice to drag some color along the bottom lash line. This is a good basic brush to have in your stash.
- M.A.C 266 – I used this everyday to apply powder to my brows until I discovered pencils but it’s still a great brush. I rarely apply gel eyeliner but I like to used the angled part to stamp on my flick. It’s not flimsy at all and holds it’s shape pretty well.
- M.A.C 217 – The mother of all eyeshadow brushes. I literally own 7 of them, I kid you not! The brush can pack on color and blend in just a few swipes. This is my number one pick and if I could only have one eye brush this would be it.
- Hakuhodo G5539BkSL – This is comparable to the M.A.C 217 but the only difference is that it has a tapered point. The point will deposit the color and the bristles around it will do all the work blending the shadow out.
- Hakuhodo G5529BkSL – Such a fine brush especially for fancy crease work. Its great for smaller eyes and helping define them too.
