With Summer quickly approaching so is what I like to call the “melting effect”. It’s difficult to make sure all your hard work stays put all day without shifting, creasing or simply slipping off your face.
Step One : Choosing the right base products for you
- Oily Skins – Mattifying foundations are great and newer gel-textures will stay put all day long. Try sandwiching liquids/creams with powder over top to help lock them in place. Using a setting spray can also help everything stay together, Think of it as hairspray and how it holds the style in your hair. If you went overboard with powdering the T-zone this spray will definitely help aid the issue.
- Dry Skins – For those who suffer from dryness all year round stick to your hydrating products, perhaps a light dusting of loose powder on the T-zone to help with any shine that might arise as the day progresses.
Step Two : Eyes
- Waterproof – That means mascaras, eyeshadow and liner! It will be a hassle at the end of the night but this will ensure that you don’t have eyeliner running down your entire face. Using eyeshadow primers makes a huge difference and are used to prevent creasing, they actually increase the pigmentation of your eyeshadow. You can also spray your brush with a setting spray lightly before you dip it into the eyeshadow, it will help adhere better to the eyelid.
Step Three : Lips
- Bold or not – Bright colors are fun to wear especially during the warmer months but then comes the responsibility of making sure it stays on your lips. Be sure to exfoliate the lips with a scrub or a soft bristled tooth brush prior to applying your lip color. Lip liners are also a huge help to keep the lipstick from bleeding or feathering. Another good tip is to lightly press a tissue over your lips and dust a bit of loose translucent powder on top of the tissue.
These are all simples steps ensuring you get the most out of your makeup application and making sure it stays put!
