I hate giving into hype but as a beauty blogger you can’t help but wonder “Are they really that good”? Ultimately you are the judge but all I can do is give you feedback… yea these Artis brushes are pretty fucking awesome. I think people moan too much about the ergonomic design, it’s very weird but after the first initial use you know what to expect. The only way I can explain so that you can relate, its like holding a toothbrush. I was sent a few different styles from their line-up, all chosen by me so that I can get a proper feel on how they work with each part of the face. I’ve been using these brushes for over a month now and here are my thoughts…
First up is one of the more popular shapes which is the Oval 6 brush. I’ve used it for foundation, contour, concealing under the eyes and cream blush. Now you are meant to swipe in stroking motions rather than buffing so that you get a nice even application. I stroke the brush in one direction and then lightly pat as if it were a beauty blender, boom done. If you have a larger face I’d say to go for the Oval 7 brush if you want to use this for foundation. It’s densely packed so it soaks up less makeup product.
Next is the Oval 4 which still has that same shape but much smaller, perfect for contouring and concealing. This fits right into the hollows of my cheeks and buffs product seamlessly. It’s easy to use under the eyes without tugging around that area.
For the eyes I chose the Linear 1 brush which happens to be my favorite out of the bunch! I’ve been using M.A.C Teddy eye kohl smudged on the upper and lower lash line for weeks. It smokes the pencil out beautifully and I’m obsessed! I have yet to try a winged liner because I don’t use gel (I only own liquid) but I’ve seen plenty tutorials of girls getting a nice sharp flick using this particular brush. Don’t ask how they just do, serious skills doe.
Lastly the Circle 1 brush has been great for pinpoint concealing. I’ve had quite a few spots creep up, especially in the last week and this buffs concealer without removing it. I use dabbing motions to dispense and then buff the edges around the blemish.

Also wanted to mention their foaming brush cleanser is so good, I use it to clean my beauty blenders too! They also have a cleaning pad which you can buff the brush head to wipe any residual product off so that you can keep using it on different areas on the face. Worth picking one up or two…
