“I’m always inspired by textures and textiles every time a new season arrives. It’s insane to me that you can literally smell the warmer weather as it approaches. I’ve always said you can have the most basic of outfits but accessories can really add character to a look. Every season I start a mood board on Pinterest and will be there for hours just scrolling being inspired by photos. So in come these accessories which btw make me feel 12 again but a good 12 ya know! I seriously can’t get enough of them. I’m all for the velvet, silk, satin scrunchies paired with a million clips and chunky gold jewelry. To me, there is something so earthy and chic about them…”
The clips that started it all for me were designed by one of my favorite jewelry designers named Becca, she is based out of Brooklyn and all her pieces are handmade. Winden is the name of her brand and I’ve been a huge fan since I found her on IG. She cares more so about sustainability and constantly thriving to be a more ethical company. I placed my order for her Petite Jess Barette (named after one of her best friends) and recycled silk scrunchie. They arrived beautifully packaged and Becca was kind enough to gift me her Joni Barette in the tortoise shell (I love a good tortoise shell). They are handmade in France which anything French I’m for and reasonably priced.

I found another hair clip brand from Denmark by the name of Kanel which do super affordable barrettes and clips as well! I got a tortoiseshell and ice blue mini clip. As for jewelry, I’m either low maintenance and minimal or I love a good statement earring. I’m head over heels for my new mini curved earrings from Laura Lombardi! I ordered a pair off Mango which are a great dupe look-wise but the quality just wasn’t there. I also picked up a coin necklace from an Aussie-based brand by the name of Reliquia, I think the design is very clean and understated. I know Missoma necklaces are all the rave right now but I do like trying to find other smaller brands that aren’t heard of as often.
I then went scrunchie mad and ordered a few velvet ones from Amazon, not the best of quality but they do the job. However, I did find a silk one that has floppy bunny ears (my description) from a brand called Donni based out of LA. The entire site has some killer accessories along with some gorgeous clothing!
Honestly, I feel like I’m getting in touch with the feminine side of me and often find myself asking “who is this girl?” It’s refreshing to know that adding these pieces to my wardrobe doesn’t really alter my style but also opens me up to new things to play around with. Fashion is all about having fun and experimenting, you won’t know unless you try…
