Dior Star Fluid Foundation

As promised I’m here with a full report on Dior’s latest foundation launch, the Star Fluid Foundation. It’s extremely lightweight on the skin with a medium to full satin finish. There isn’t any shimmer involved just a dewiness to it. It doesn’t feel greasy nor does it add to my oil pool of a t-zone. I’ve found it best to apply in thin layers to build up to your desired coverage because it can cake up if you use too much at once. I only need one pump to cover my entire face and I love the fact that you are able to dispense what you need, a brilliant pump I tell ya! My biggest advice is to take a sample home before you decide on a shade in store, I initially purchased the shade 40 Honey Beige but then realized it was way too dark for me in natural light. It doesn’t oxidize but for some reason 40 seemed ok in the store, I then had to exchange it and pick up the shade 31 Sand which is a perfect match for my NC35 skin tone. From fair to mocha I feel that Dior did a great job creating a color selection within the range. Not only is it a foundation but it also contains skincare properties to help reduce the appearance of dark areas, pigment spots, and redness. It really makes the skin look like you’ve had a ton of water (trying to let go of the Pepsi) giving you that glow from within. Now it does have a tiny fragrance but it’s very soft and not overwhelming in any way.

This was worth running back almost immediately and getting the correct shade #beautybloggerproblems. So a huge thumbs up from me and believe or not I can see this taking the spot of my beloved Bobbi Brown Even Finish Foundation! There I said it!!!!

This sounds really lovely. I love how it’s also got some skincare benefits. I see a possible splurge on the horizon.. or maybe I should but it on my Christmas list (too early?) xx

I bought mine in Sephora and those lights are so tricky to work with and find the perfect shade match ! I got 22 but I think I should have gotten shade 23 :/ I still can work with it by adding a bit of bronzer… but you know…

    • it’s such a pain in the butt! At least you can bronze it up, I looked like oompa loompa!

  • Vanessa Buttino

Someone else I know picked up the wrong shade at first but I can’t remember who it was. I think it *may* have been Victoria at inthefrow.com but again, I can’t remember (I blame my 32-year-old brain cells on this).

    • lol yea she did I read it just now!

      • Vanessa Buttino

Oh thank God! My brain is still working.
