Hourglass have now dipped their hands into the skincare industry and although this bottle comes at a hefty price it doesn’t disappoint! I was fortunate enough to receive a bottle of the new biomimetic serum which is only to be used at night, you conserve more of the product this way as well. The texture and consistency is very liquid like, it’s hydrating too! I’ve been using this for a good 3-4 weeks religiously to see if it lives up to its price and my skin has honestly never looked better. I was breakout free for the first 3 weeks but then decided to try a new face oil from Antipodes and suffered painful cystic acne. I then switched back to the Hourglass serum and just overnight most of the swelling was gone.
The texture of my skin is much smoother and a few pores have shrunk in size. As for hyper-pigmentation that too has improved making my face a lot more radiant. It contains phosphatidylglycerol, which is a natural body lipid or fat found in the protective liquid surrounding a fetus that’s proven to be essential in lung development. The lipid was also linked to normalizing skin-cell growth. The serum also contains. . .
- 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid: Helps reduce the appearance of skin discoloration and brightens skin tone
- Squalene: Restores skin suppleness and flexibility
- Dunaliella Salina Extract: Helps even skin tone, brighten the complexion and act as a free radical scavenger
The serum is created using an ultrasonication process, producing microscopic oil droplets which deliver the ingredients into the skin on a much higher concentrated level. This is magic in a bottle and it’s why my skin has been looking its best lately. I apply this after cleansing at night and will use my moisturizer over top, I have yet to have a reaction while combining the two. Leave it to Hourglass to be innovative and creative, it’s something I admire from the brand.
