Khaki Nails For Fall
I’ve noticed that the “it” color this fall is Khaki, military green, hunter green and the list goes on. I was actually inspired by one of my patients when choosing this nail shade, she had the perfect shade of green on her long ass acrylic nails and I just couldn’t stop staring at it (I almost didn’t catch her blood pressure). As soon as I got home I went rummaging through my polish stash and found a GOSH color I bought in NYC last year! There are a pair of Khaki trousers I’ve been eyeing from Zara but I haven’t hit…
The Hand & Nail Routine
I want to say that this was my second post when I started blogging and my nail routine has changed a bit since then. I work in the medical field as you all know so I’m constantly washing my hands. I try to take really good care of them because to me hands show a sign of cleanliness. Unfortunately my paws aren’t the most feminine out of the bunch, I inherited my fathers military knife hands (his hands are serious). I’ve come to terms with them because I create beautiful things and help people with them (it’s what I tell myself to cope). I…
Essie Truth Or Flare
Essie released their new Spring 2014 collection and I was on the fence about one of the shades until I saw Lily’s post! As you all know I’ve been on a blue nail frenzy and I’ve added one more to the line-up. Essie Truth or Flare is a grey toned blue with a cream finish. Its opaque in two coats and the formula is a gel-like consistency. This shade is definitely worth picking up, I feel that all the other shades can either be duped or aren’t that appealing to me. I do love a good blue . . .
Chic Indeed . . .
Every now and again I dedicate a post to a single nail color I deem worthy, this shade my friends is a beaut! Revlon Chic is a cool grey toned blue with a cream finish. Its opaque enough with one really good coat which is pretty impressive considering it’s a drugstore nail polish. The formula applies nice and smoothly, with no bubbling at all. I haven’t had one chip and this paint job is 3 days old btw! My current obsession with powder blue has led me to venture out to try other tones of blues. Not a very spring color I know…
I’ve Got A Thing …
Powder freakin blue, who would have guessed I’d like an actual color other than black. It’s one of Springs “it” colors along with other pastels. New in from Essie is a lovely pale ice blue in the shade Find Me An Oasis. It’s opaque in just two coats and I’d say it has a white base with a tinge of blue to it. Essie polishes usually last 5-7 days before I start to see chipping. Next is Deborah Lippmann’s Blue Orchid from their new Spring collection, it’s a periwinkle blue with slight purple undertones. This is my second go at…
YSL La Laque Couture Rose …
YSL released 2 nail shades for Spring 2014 but this shade was more appealing to me than the other. Priced at $25 the formula is rich and a cream finish. I’m wearing two coats for an opaque finish. The shade is this pretty bubblegum pink with cool undertones (almost orchid). This is actually my first time trying the YSL polish formula and I have to say I am very pleased. It’s super smooth, fast-drying and I didn’t see chipping until the 4-5 day. It has an excellent wide brush which makes application a breeze. I normally don’t go for pink…
