3 New Bases
I’ve gone overboard in the base/foundation department and currently have 3 that I’m extremely happy with! Dewy skin is my thing and all of these products deliver just that in their own way.
- Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder Foundation in Medium 6 – This looks, feels and screams healthy skin a tube. I love that it contains a bit more than your standard 1.0 oz bottle and the packaging is lightweight. I’d say this is a light to medium coverage foundation with a satin finish. It’s very luminous but in a way that the skin looks plump and fresh. I thought shade 6 would be too light for my NC30 skin-tone, somehow it blended into the skin and was a perfect match. Normal to dry skins would love this, if you are super oily you might want to try a sample and definatley set it with powder. I like to use a damp beauty blender or fingers to apply it.
- Givenchy Teint Couture in 6 Elegant Gold – I didn’t research this before purchasing it but it was love at first application. I was testing the Dior Nude Air Foundation which was a total fail (settled into fine lines, sat on the skin, drying) so I exchanged it for this one and I’m so glad I did. This foundation has a semi-matte finish but again looks like skin. It can be medium to full coverage but the preference is up to you, less is more in my opinion. I think women make the mistake of using way too much foundation when it should be the opposite. Base should just even you out and then use a heavy duty concealer to cover up blemishes or hyper-pigmentation. The texture of this foundation is very creamy and easily blendable, I like to use a damp beauty blender to apply it.
- Burberry Fresh Glow BB Cream in 03 Dark – For those looking for something light, luminous and radiant this is your guy. This is perhaps the best BB cream formula I’ve ever tried hands down! This is one of those products that looks beautiful as it wears and blends with your natural face oils throughout the day. It contains SPF 20 which is great for the sunny days to come including rosehip tea, and lavender extracts. It does smell like the traditional Burberry Beauty product but later dissipates. This is easy to rub on everyday and it looks best when applied with fingers, the heat from the finger tips really helps with blending it in.
All great choices if you’re looking to try something new. Unfortunately the new gel-serum foundations do not work with my skin so I think its best if I just stick to what I know. . .
