I’m finally cashing in my Christmas gift and we’re heading to NYC this weekend to see Wicked at the Gershwin Theatre. We saw the Lion King last year and the experience was damn near life changing! I wish I could say there will be shopping involved but being a blogger, part-time MA and mommy of 2 leaves little to no room for date nights. We’ll be staying with my BF’s parents enjoying family time and good food!I thought I’d just share was I was tossing in my makeup bag for the occasion which is nothing special, plain and simple like always.
Base & Concealing – The Diorskin Star Foundation gives me good coverage without feeling heavy or looking matte on the skin. To set everything I’ll be using my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light to keep the base very youthful and fresh. I’m still using the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer for blemishes and eye bags so it too will be coming along for the ride.
Cheeks – Of course I have to pack the CT Filmstar Bronze and Glow for some contouring action, this has quickly become an all-time favorite! When in doubt just go with what you know and that is the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed, it’s a no brainer and works with any look.
Eyes – Keeping it very simple I’ll be using the *Hourglass Modernist Palette in Obscura which has 5 neutral shades to choose from. I don’t think I’ll be doing elaborate eye looks but it’s nice to have the option. I will go nowhere without my eyelash curlers or the Maybelline Full & Soft WP mascara! I also wanted to bring a matte medium brown for crease work and Burberry Almond eyeshadow is such a good one to have. I don’t think I’ll have time for liquid liner but I like I said options are nice (over-packer) so I’ll be bringing the PF Eye Booster liner just in case.
Lips – Giving a rest to my traditional nude lip I’m going to bring the CT K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Hepburn Honey and M.A.C Hug Me, both are still pretty neutral but perfect for everyday. I’m not a huge gloss girl but I will bring the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in 04 for some added moisture and shine. As for priming and prepping the lips I love the Jo Malone Vitamin E Lip Conditioner.
Extras – For tools I’m bringing absolute must haves like a 217, 239, Nars yachiyo brush, Hakuhodo Duo Fibre Fan brush and my new Rae Morris Kabuki brush (review coming soon). Curlers like I mentioned before and some good ole cotton buds.
